Government and spam seen recently, holding hands and snuggling

We have pointed out before (here, here, and here and surely elsewhere too) that while the government claims to hate spam, they sure do love sending it out to the masses if they think it will help their cause. Their cause of course being "get more money and ideally get elected".
And nothing brings people to your side like pissing them off with more and more spam - good call geniuses!

So here you go, more government stupidity - this time in Australia (good to see that it isn't just the States that has morons running the show).

The best part of this one is that it has spam AND nepotism - that's right, he hired his son's firm to do the spamming. When you plan on pissing off your potential voters, might as well go whole hog! The article then has experts weighing in that while technically legal (what?! you mean they put a loophole in there? this never usually happens...), it is also technically incredibly sleazy.
