Spammer gets suspended

I don't know the terms of this suspension, but according to the Washing Times Chinese website Sohu.com has been suspended by the Chinese government because Sohu.com spammed its customers.

The move is part of a crackdown by the state-controlled mobile phone company which is seeking to rein in aggressive marketing of mobile phone services across China, the government's Xinhua news agency reported Monday.

I don't even know what the suspension entails or how it is enforced. But one thing is clear - China cares about spam in its own country, from its own country. But it doesn't appear to care at all about those China based bulletproof hosting servers that send out spam since most (all?) of that spam goes to the US and UK.
Also, it would clearly be nice if the US would step up and take similar actions in its own backyard the way China has - but it is far easier for me to wave my hand and say that here while sitting here at work, as opposed to actually having to really do anything about it. So whoever it is that has to do something... you know... get started on that please.
