More thoughts on spam

The Inquirer writes of their thoughts on spam.
The article discusses a few of the anti-spam initiatives that have been raised so far and then points out their good/bad points.

None of these are new of course - there is the "pay to send" method, and then the "stamp issuing server", bulk purchasing, etc. These methods have all discussed here on Spamblogging and of course in the news (since that is what we reference anyway).

But it is always good to see an increase in people thinking about and discussing the problem. Once that it can be acknowledged that there is a problem - which I think at this point we can all agree on - then progress can be made on the solution.
The downside is that we have been at this stage for some time now, and it takes time to redesign all of this, so unfortunately we are going to be at this similar stage for even longer.
