Patch up your OSes!

Everyone and their brother is talking about the new XP SP2 released today. It helps block up the many security holes in your Microsoft Windows XP machine. Helping stop the amount of spam, viruses, spyware, etc that you get everyday. (release notes and review)

The load on the Microsoft servers is apparently so huge that they are requesting that everyday users don't yet download the 75MB file and only those that are going to be installing it out to a network of machines should get it now. Of course, IBM has said that even though it has metric craploads of Windows machines on its global sites, they are going to be holding off on this for awhile to see how it pans out.

Because of that, and the opportunity to show that P2P technology isn't all bad, there is a group helping share the load over BitTorrent - so if you are saavy enough for that tech, then please go for it now and clean up your system.

And hey Mac users, don't feel left out - OS X 10.3.5 was released today, as was a security update.

The networks are alive tonight.
